One of the youngest favourites in our family is PIKKY, the small miniature schnauzer, who came to our home on 8 Sept, 2007, at the age of 1 year, with scared, blue eyes. He was saved by the Mini Rescue from the poundmaster's plant of Jászberény with matted coat in hardly recognizable condition and perhaps he would have been put to sleep.

Some weeks later, when I found him on the website of the rescue among other dogs waiting for their new owners, I was sure by the first sight that his new home will be at our place.

At the beginning he was frightened by almost everything, even by us, he wasn't willing to come closer than 3-4 meters. His injuries made a slow recovery, especially the mental ones, lots of love and patience had been needed till he understood and believed he's in safe and won't hunger any more. Later on he became much more liberated, the whole house was resounding by his barking when welcoming his owners. We did our best to make him forget his sad past of vicissitudes. Due to his behaviour and his lovely, open-hearted personality we do believe that he had been able to leave his past behind, but there was something what had left a forever mark: Pikky became totally blind by his age of 3 years... and after a long battle with his heart disease he left us way too young on the 16th of July, 2016... There are things which can't be made undone - no matter how much love and devoted care is given - Pikky should't have become blind and later on shouldn't have been fighting for so long with heart problems... It can't happen in a scrupulous, responsible canine community...
Saying goodbye to our faithful friend. Miss you so much!
